This rectangular brooch is made from silver, brass and copper and measured aprrox 80mm x 25mm.
 
The base of this brooch is reticulated silver. The texture is created by heat treating of one side of the silver. The treatment gives a fine silver surface which as the metal cools the silver seperated from the copper content in the metal and as it cools the two metal contract at different rates which gives the 'crumples' surface.
